Happy Birthday & Bon Voyage

Howdy friends,

Today I have a fun card to share with you - it has a bit of a funny greeting.  This combination seems strange but my friend left on a trip to Antarctica on her birthday.

I used the Boat Pop Up with the new Cruise Ship Add-ons.  Since she is going to Antarctica I thought a penguin would be fun sitting on an ice burg with his gift.

Another one from the PHD file

 Hello again friends,

Last week I was in a creative slump and found a card in my PHD (projects half done) file.  Well, I have been sorting through my files again and found this card base already done - all I had to do was add embellishments.

I used the house of cards which was already in the card and then simply cut out some great birthday images and BAM!! - done.

Week 2 - House of Cards/Birthday Cake

 Hello Friends,

Today I have another House of Cards for you.  As promised, I will be showing a new card each week on Monday where I have used the House of Cards die set from Karen Burniston.  This die set is so versatile and can be used, as you will see, for so much more than the name implies.  This week I have made a birthday cake.

Sorry about the glare on this one, I wanted the cake plate to look like silver so used mirror cardstock.  It looks great in person but really difficult to film and photograph.

For this card I cut all the pieces from white cardstock and then added some pink dots and then used the Trims Border Blend set for the top. On the top I added some candles and finished it off with some forks.
Thanks for stopping by, I have added photos of the two House of Cards projects I have previously shared.

See you next Week,

Big Birthday Celebration

 Hi Friends,

I am a member of a wonderful group  of ladies who love to get together each month for some fun socializing and crafting.  When one of us has a milestone birthday we go out for lunch and treat the birthday girl to lunch and lots of handmade cards.  It's really just an excuse to go out for lunch with friends and have a good day.  This month we celebrated Mary's day so I wanted to share my card here now that I have given it to her.  Her favorite color combo is black & white with red.

This card was fun and easy to put together, I used lots of great dies from Karen Burniston.  You can see all the products I used linked below.

Paw-some Birthday

 Hello friends,

I have lots of birthdays in May so thought I better get going on my cards.  I have a fun one today for a friend.  He has two cute little dogs, both brown, so my card is wishing him a paw-some celebration.

I used the Triple flip die set to create this fun card and some great paper from my stash that has cute images of dogs.

You can see all the products I used as well as an assembly video on how to use the Triple Flip die set.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon,

Happy Birthday Wishes

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card made for a friend's birthday which is actually tomorrow.  I think it would be a bummer to have your birthday on a holiday, but it seems that happens to her most years.  Anyway, I hope it is happy!!

All the dies I used on this card are from Karen Burniston and they are listed below.

Happy Turkey Day,

It's Somebunny's Birthday

Hello friends and welcome back.  I have a fun little birthday card to share with you.  I'm using dies that are probably already in your collection.  I show you all the details in my video below.  Simply by changing the sentiment, it can become an Easter card.  Or if you want, it can become a mouse by changing the shape of the ears to a circle.

I hope you enjoy and I'll see you again soon.

Happy Crafting,
S@ndy

Birthday Greetings

Hi Friends,

I made this bright and colorful birthday card for a friend.  I had no trouble finding colors that worked well with each other because I used one paper pad.  If you have difficulty finding just the right color or element this is the easy way to get good results.  The paper pad was an older one from my stash so I'm afraid that I can't give you the name.

I used the new Gift Pivot Panel from Karen Burniston along with a few other dies from Karen.  If you would like to see a complete video tutorial on how to assemble this die set click here.

I kept the front of the card very simple by using only the papers in the paper pad.

One of the papers in this pad had a star border so I placed the die on the boarder to make an anchor for the gifts that will go on later.  I found all the crease lines made by the die and folded them in the correct direction.

I added the pivot panel to the inside of the card while it was flat.
Be sure to watch the video linked above to see how this step was done.  I couldn't be much easier.
When you close the card the pivot section will find the crease lines and fold up nicely.

I added the gifts and few other embellishments which I have linked below.

See you again soon,

Paper Pros Challenge, Basic Shapes

Hello everyone and welcome back,

Today is the Paper Pros Challenge of Basic Shapes and I have chosen to use the Oval Frame Pop Up and the Circle Crosshatch die sets for my card.  There are some pretty vivid colors here and that makes me happy.

As you can see - the front is pretty simple with the greeting of "Happy Birthday".  When the card is opened up - it is full of bright, happy colors that just say Party.

I can't think of anyone who would not enjoy this card, no matter how old or young.
You can see how the card is assembled by watching Karen Burniston's video HERE.

See you soon and keep having fun with paper,

You're How Old?

Hi friends and welcome back.

I have a fun card to share with you today - our friend turned 80 this week and I just had to make a special card for him.  Yes, 80 candles!!!

It seems innocent enough when viewed from the outside.  It has a simple belly band to keep it closed with the greeting and some candles.

But when fully opened it is an explosion of color and candles, five for the outside and 75 for the inside.

I began by using my Envelope punch board to make a 5.5" square envelope.  I made an extra score line on each crease so there would be enough room for all those candles. The score lines are 1/4" apart.

Next two extra pieces were cut and glued to the side flaps.

Then 80 candles were cut and assembled.  This is a good way to use up those scraps of paper that we all save.

This card was fun to make because it is for someone special, believe me, I wouldn't cut all those candles for just anyone.

Until next time,
Have fun with paper,
S@ndy

Happy Birthday Helen!

Hi Friends,

Well, we all survived Thanksgiving and we are still eating leftovers.  Mac does all the cooking at our house and tonight we are having Turkey Soup.

I made this card for my friend Helen who had a birthday earlier this month.  I gave her the card personally so I know it's safe to show it here.    I used the Flower Pot Pop Up die from Karen Burniston.  I mixed some balloons with greenery from the Flowers and Bee die set to make the perfect balloon bouquet,  Enjoy!!

You can see all the dies I used linked below - just click on the item for more information .

I kept the front simple - because the fun is on the inside.

See you soon,

Celebration!!!

Hi Friends,

Today was our monthly meeting of the WOW group (Wild Old Women). We celebrated a birthday today and, of course, I made a card for the occasion.  I'm happy to share it with you now since I already gave it to my friend.

I use the Explosion Pop-up from Karen Burniston for this card and added a cat since Cheri loves cats.
You can see all the dies I used below where you can click on the link to shop.

The inside is a celebration of balloons, cupcakes and gifts along with the explosion of fun.

On the front I simply added some of the elements from the inside of the card.
Cheri really liked her card and that makes me happy.

See you soon,
S@ndy

Just For Fun Friday

Hi all and welcome,

I made this card a couple weeks ago for a friends birthday and it turned out rather cute because the adorable little dog on the card looks just like my friends puppy.

I used the Karen Burniston Katherine Label Pop-Up with some fun paper for a cheery greeting.

With the window cut into the front of this card, that cute little dog can be seen from the outside as well as the inside.  The mechanism on this card moves the greeting as the card is opened.

Have a fun and creative weekend,
S@ndy

Happy Birthday Els!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELS - It's a Design Team Bog Hop!!

Today is the birthday of our "fearless leader" Els van de Burgt, the creator of Elizabeth Craft Designs. To celebrate this special event the design team has done a Surprise Blog Hop.  We all made a card to post today in hopes that she will be surprised.  This was such fun and a pleasure to make something for Els. She is always so friendly, kind and generous.

Here is my card -

It may seem a little strange but I used the Unconventional Christmas Paper from ModaScrap because it is all about gifts and really doesn't have any of the traditional Christmas colors.  It was perfect for this card.  Everything I used is linked below so you can shop simply by clicking on the product.

I kept the inside clean and simple with a space to write my personal message.

Here is the list of blogs for you to visit - you will be truly inspired!

                        Sandy Diller (you are here)

It doesn't get any better - Els has a gift for you on her birthday -

To celebrate Els' birthday, Elizabeth Craft Designs are giving out a gift when you place an order over $25 on the Elizabeth Craft Designs web site. You will receive 10 sheets of stickers with every purchase over $25. This special promotion applies to all orders placed from today Thursday 15th March until the end of day on Monday 19th March.

See you soon,
