Today I have a huge card to share with you. I made this card using the technique from Karen Burniston's June Zoom class. It was fun to try and it turned out just perfect. I included a little gift card pocket in this one, when moving into a new home there is always something you need at Home Depot.
It's hard to see the bird charm dangling because I used an overhead camera, but you can see it clearly in the photo.
I made this card for a friend's birthday so thought I would share it with you today. As much as I love all of Karen Burniston's dies, this is my all-time favorite. The Little Twist Panel. As many of you know, I am very fond of Steampunk so had to use it here. This paper from Graphic 45 is steampunk in a very soft way.
I live in Arizona and it is HOT, HOT, HOT. That means it is a perfect time to stay in and create some cards in the craft room. It is also a good time for a movie in the air conditioned theater. I was thinking of the Acadamy Awards when I looked through my paper stash. I created this fun card with a movie theme in mind.
It's a slimline card with lots of movie themed elements. I used the Katherine Lable to pop up the popcorn and drink.
It seems as though I am always making birthday cards so here goes another one for you. This time it is my friend Judy, her favorite color is blue.
I used an altered Tag Book to create this card using Judy's favorite color. The Tag Book Pop-up is from Karen Burniston. You can see all the products I used linked below.
We are having some fabulous sunny days here in Arizona. The cactus are blooming and it is fun to be on the patio.
I have a fun little card to share that is perfect for these days. I used the Tag Book Pop-up from Karen Burniston. I made a few alterations to the Tag Book which are shown in the linked video from Karen. Just add a few butterflies and some flowers and it's good to go.
Easter is upon us, so I have one final bunny card to share.
I used the Katerine Lable to pop the Happy Easter then decorated with some fun images that are all linked below. Simply click on the item for more information.
This month Karen Burniston has let the team choose what they want to make and share. With Easter just around the corner - I have some cute bunnies to show you.
My card is rather simple - I used the Katherine Label to make the cute little bunny pop up. You can see all the products I used linked below as well as Karen's instruction video on how to make a Katherine Lable with a window.
Today I have a card that is easy to assemble but carries a big punch of bright spring colors. I found this paper in my stash so decided to use it all - making a slimline card. I was inspired by my teammate, Nicky Foden, who made a fabulous card using the add-ons in a totally different way.
I used the Twist Flower Pop up along with the Butterfly Collage Add-ons all from Karen Burniston. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my creation. All products are linked below.
Today I have something fun for you. I love me some Peeps and they going to be available soon if they aren't already. My Peeps are fun to make and the best part is - they are not fattening. I tried to make mine look as authentic as possible but if you have some ideas, let me know.
I used the Slider Box to construct the box and Small Scenes Bam Box Pop-up to make the Peeps pop up. Both die sets are from Karen Burniston.
When making the box I tried a few different things before coming up with my final design. Start with the Slider Box making a few alterations as shown below.
To assemble the sleeve - cut two and find and fold all the creases - same assembly as shown (I added a window) in Karen's instruction video linked below.
Instead of one slider tray, cut two and make alterations as shown in the photos above.
To make the Peeps, in your browser type: free clipart peeps. There I found many images, these are the ones I used. No one hates fussy cutting more than I do but it was necessary for the logo. I created a Scan N Cut file for the peeps, but they are easy to cut out by hand or with a die.
I did not have glitter paper so I made my own by cutting the peeps with double sided adhesive on one side of the paper. If you are using solid colors, it does not matter which side you place the tape. When I peeled the release sheet from the peep, I added Warm Diamond Mico Fine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs to the sticky side. The glitter is transparent so the color of the paper comes through.
See my video above for all the details of how I made a template for the eyes and nose. I also cut the bottom flat so it works in the box best.
It's Designer Challenge Day once again and this time we are to make a project with the theme of "Lake or Ocean". I had lots of fun making this one because each animal made me smile. I had all the right animals and, of course, the Paper People to make Noah. The ark seems a little crowded but that's what makes it fun, and the snails are the last to arrive. You can see all the products linked below - simply click on the photo to get more info.
The rainbow is made from inked vellum and then attached to the ark - so they move together.
My card for today is best described as "Clean & Simple". The new Popcorn die set from Karen Burniston is so much fun that not much else is needed (except for some fun stamps).
You will need to have the Flower Pot Pop-Up die set as a foundation to use the Popcorn set. I have
linked all the products I used below as well as Karen's instruction video for the Flower Pot.
I hope everyone is having a great new year so far. Our holidays were great but glad it is over for another year.
Our challenge for today is to use any dies from Karen Burniston's first 100 releases. There was a great choice here and I finally landed on the Twist Panel. I always love a dynamic pop up and this one is great for that. I'm combining my challenge card with a birthday card that I need for a friend who loves, blue, green and purple. I got it covered with this colorful Twist Panel.
You can see all the products I used linked below. Simply click on the photo to see more details.
Hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner - I made a card in hast to get all the last-minute things done before Christmas Eve. I used a panel from a paper pad to create the front of the card and on the inside, I used the Stocking Pop-up from Karen Burniston. This card is already in the mail.
Since it is more fun to see a pop-up card in action, I have included a short video for you.
Hello again friends, with Christmas just a couple weeks away, you may be stressing if you haven't finished your cards yet. Today I have one that goes together quickly for a spectacular look.
For this card I used Karen Burniston's new Postage Pop-up to create a fun look. For the front I simply used some designer paper that was in my stash cut to make a square card. On the inside I continued with the designer paper and added the Postage Pop-up with some more of Karen's adorable charms and borders. You can see all the products I used linked below.
My friend, Natalie, recently celebrated her birthday so now it is ok to share the card I made for her. As you may have guessed, her favorite color is pink.
I used the Lorna Label along with two of the add-ons. You can see all the products I used linked below.
The weather has turned cool (even here in Arizona) which means it's time to start the holiday baking that we all love. My card has all the things that are important to the holiday season.
All the Karen Burniston dies I used to create this card are linked below as well as the assembly video for the Oven and Oven Extras.
It's time once again for the Designer Challenge and this time Karen has challenged the team with Autumn or Christmas cheer. Since the colors of Autumn are among my favs, I went with Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving because it is the only celebration for eating, something I excel at.
I've linked all the products I've used below as well as Karen's assembly video.
Hello friends and welcome back for Sneak Peek #3. I have a 5" X 7" top fold card for you today. I have used the new Poinsettia die as well as the new Lorna Label Add-On for the inside of the card which will be available on karenburniston.com on Monday October 28, 2024.
I have a fun bowling card to share today. I made it for our friend who loves bowling - each year I challenge myself to make a pop up bowing card for him. This time I used the Karen Burniston Pop 'N Swap die set to create the perfect strike. I have linked all the products I used below as well as Karen's instruction video on how assemble the Pop 'N Swap. For the bowling ball and pins - I used the Scan n Cut.
