Just For Fun Friday

Hi my crafty friends,

I have lots of birthdays coming up so thought I should get started on my card making so I don't miss any of them.

How about a lovely cupcake?  Perhaps several of them?   I used Karen Burniston's  Evergreen Pivot Panel for this card but instead of adding trees, I added cupcakes.  I made the card according to directions until it came time for the trees.  You can see Karen's instruction video here.  

The front is simple with a couple of Crosshatch Circles and then, of course, two yummy cupcakes.

A simple Happy Birthday along with a few cupcakes and it's ready to be mailed.

Just For Fun Friday - We Flamingo Together

Hi and welcome back friends,

I have a  fun card to share today - I used the fabulous new Flamingo Die Set from Elizabeth Craft Designs and the Fitted Hearts along with the Adventure Edges.  

I began with the flamingos cut from pink paper and then used Copic Markers to color on top of the pink - adding some darker colors to the soft pink. 

I made a simple gate fold card and the cut the heart directly in the center.   Next, add some grass at the bottom of the card.  Add the colored flamingos to the center so their beaks meet in the center to form a heart shape.  For this card - I cut 4 flamingos and colored them the same.  I then glued them back to back so they would look good from both sides when the card is opened.

A simple colored panel for the inside of the card adds lots of color.  I used Distress Inks for the background.

For the finishing touch, stamp the sentiment on a Stitched Rectangle and edge with some ink.

Just For Fun Friday - Steampunk Birthday

Hi Friends & Steampunk Fans,

I have a fun card to share with you today that was totally inspired by Shelly Hickcox.  She made the most spectacular card using Karen Burniston's Spinner Square Pop Up Card and I wanted to try it.  Isn't that what sharing is all about?  I sent mine to a friend for his birthday but took photos and a short video before dropping it in the mail.

I used some Tim Holtz paper for this one.  For the card assembly you can see a video here where Karen explains it much better than I can.

If you know me, you know I hate fussy cutting but sometimes it's necessary.  I had some great steampunk paper in my stash so cut out the hand holding the sign.  Once that was done it was stamped with the greeting from one of Karen's discontinued stamp sets but any birthday greeting will work.
