Make it Spooky

It's time for a new challenge at A Vintage Journey and this time Anne, our lovely hostess, has asked us to "Make it Spooky".  I have been loving the Alcohol Ink on Yupo Paper technique and have made my tag using that technique.

This was lots of fun to make using Alcohol Ink to create the different colors for the background and then dropping yellow Alcohol Ink on top to create the moon.  I placed the Bat stencil from Karen Burniston on top and then removed some of the color using blending solution.  I wanted the haunted house from the Mini Halloween set by Tim Holtz to stand out so first I removed most of the background color by stamping and wiping off the Archival Ink while still wet.  I then went back in and stamped it again with black Archival.  I used my Misti tool for that process.  I die cut one tree from the All Seasons Tree set and placed it in the front.  To finish it off I used one of Tim's skeleton charms along with ribbon and twine.

Hope your October is Spooky,

Make 'em Laugh!

This month Karen Burniston is challenging her design team to "Make 'em Laugh!"
and of course I wanted to join in.  With Easter just around the corner I thought it only logical to use an Easter inspired theme as well.  I just love those crazy head bands that are on the market for most holidays and thought perhaps Whiskers and Buster would like to join the fun and disguise themselves as a bunny.

Guess who?

I used the Adirondack Chair #975, although you can hardly see it now.  Whiskers the Cat #973, Buster #984, trees, blossoms & clouds from the All Seasons Tree Set #781, grass from the Outdoor Edge Set # 914 and the pail from the
Palm Tree & Pail Set #987.
I found some free clipart on the web and used it to fashion the ears, cutting them out by hand and then drawing in some of the details.  I hope it makes you laugh.

Here is the front of the card where I used two stamps from Stampin Up and the labels from  the Katie Label Pivot Card # 768 along with one of the Agatha Edges #782.

Have a great week and don't forget to stop by the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog on Wednesday to see all the cards from the Design Team and a new video from Karen.

Keep Laughing,

The Cutesy Factor

I'm back today with my Cutesy Card as promised.  I don't usually do cutesy but I can't resist a challenge.  Karen Burniston challenged us to do either Artsy or Cutesy so I decided to do both. You can see my Artsy from yesterday by clicking here.
This seems to be a good one also for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
which is All Creatures, Big and Small

For the front of the card I simply used the Agatha Edge Die along with the hearts from the Heart Pivot Die.  The stamp is from Stampin' Up.  I had this great white Valentine embossed paper from DCWV in my stash.

Now for the Cutesy Part!

This "cutesy" little ewe is made of Q Tips.  I first saw it at our scrapbook club, it was found on Pinterest by another member,  I just had to make one.  Fun and cutesy!  I used the Lorna Label die for the base with Stampin' Up cardstock because it is strong and this embellishment is rather heavy. After adding some trees and clouds from the All Seasons Tree Die Set.  I made some grass with the Outdoor Edges. I used some Grunge Board letters from my stash and another heart from the Heart Pivot Set to finish the phrase.

That's it for now, hope you have enjoyed!  Have a great week.
