Hi fellow travelers - today is the start of a new challenge at A Vintage Journey. This month Nikki, our lovely hostess, is having the Creative Guides use the items from February's Destination Inspiration. As we open the bag - we find:
Color: Purple
Technique: Rust
Product: Metal
Substrate: Board
I've done a page in my Art Journal using these items including the use of the new Distress Crayons.
After coloring my pages, including purple, I added corrugated board and colored it as well. You can see lots of metal in the gears and Word Band. Since the Word Band says "Always be on the Lookout for Presents of Wonder" a dragonfly was stenciled on with Americana Yellow Light acrylic paint. I did an embossing powder rust technique on the large gear. I'm happy with my first try at these new crayons, they are fun to use with fast results.
Have a lovely weekend and please stop by A Vintage Journey - Today sees us changing things round a bit and introducing new ideas. We are very pleased to announce that we are extending and broadening our challenge themes and also the influences on our styles. Please take time to look at our 'Travelling Instructions' and 'Guide to interpreting our preferred genres' to get a clear understanding of what we try to achieve in our challenge projects and what we hope to see in your entries. You can get a quick feel by reading the explanation under the new blog banner here.
