It's that time again, yes, a new challenge at A Vintage Journey where we are sharing Mini Marvels.
We were asked to make something that is no more than 4" tall so I made some gift tags for my Holiday giving.
Our generous sponsor this month is:
Be sure to enter your make for the challenge to be in the running for a $50.00 (CAN) shopping spree.
These mini gift tags are not too hard to put together, both of them were started using the Tim Holtz Tiny Tabs & Tags.
For the tag on the left - I began with a scrap of printed scrapbook paper. After cutting out the tag a stencil was placed over the top and then a layer of translucent embossing paste was added. When paste was completely dry, Candied Apple Oxide Ink was added over the entire tag. Extra ink was added around the edge. A 1/4" strip of white cardstock was cut and glittered for the candle. The Holiday Words Script was used for the Noel and then greenery and flame were added using the Festive Glow die from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
These tags are fun and easy and a reason to use your scraps of paper that you have been saving.

The Tattered Poinsettia was used for the second tag. Cutting two red and one green, emboss all three with the Poinsettia Embossing Folder and then shape.
Once again I used a scrap for the tag, it had been colored with Oxide Inks and edged with Candied Apple. Add a brad through the center of all three poinsettias and attach to tag. I used a little Nuvo Drops to cover the brad.
Finish both tags off with a little ribbon and you are ready.

ReplyDeleteSandy, what a fabulous idea, and these tags are beautifully finished with the poinsettia and candle! I love the special details you've added, especially the glittery candlestick and the embossing in the background on the same tag. It really shows off the 'glow' of the flame.
