Time Flies at A Vintage Journey

Hi All my lovely blogger friends -

This time around our Vintage Journey Creative Guide, Chris, has chosen "Time Flies" as her theme.  I am sharing a card organizer, hoping I can fill it up, so I don't miss any important birthdays because time really does fly.

On the front of the box you can see the Timspiration - I used the Weathered Clock Die, one of his metal clock faces and one of his knobs.  I used some great paper that I had from DCWV, their Tattered Time pad.  I made the box template myself with some chipboard and it is held together by the paper.  I used some little wooden knobs from my stash for legs.

For the wings and bracket I used some of Tim's Grungboard  punch outs.
I covered each one with embossing ink and then added copper embossing powder and then heat set - giving it a glossy finish.  I did the same with the Weathered Clock,

I used my electronic cutter to make 12 index cards with the month printed on each tab.
I then edged each one with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I used manila paper to make 12 file folders to hold the index cards.  I cut a half circle with a punch in the center of each one.

The folders are graduated in size so each month shows and the cards are easy to find.  I attached the folders to each other using a strip of double back tape down the center. I did not attach the folders to the front cover or the bottom, they are attached to the frame only in the back - that way there is plenty of room for several cards in one month (as shown below).  I have lots of birthdays in March.

I hope you have enjoyed my little  project and are inspired to make one yourself.  The hard part is next, filling it up with cards.

Have a crafty weekend,
