Hi my friends and happy Holidays! With Christmas less than a week away I'm sure everyone is busy with those last minute details but hope you can take a few minutes to think about the new year. We are having guests for New Year's Eve dinner so thought I would decorate for that occasion. Our challenge this month for Elizabeth Craft Designs is backgrounds and I went a little crazy with the glitter for this one. I used it for both layers of this banner on the stars.
As usual, Elizabeth Craft Designs is giving away a gift card.
All you have to do to be in the random drawing is to leave a comment on the blog post here.
Here is the question for this month, good luck.
What Elizabeth Craft Designs dies or stamp sets would you use to create a background on something you were creating?
Here are some details on how I made my banner
Using the Stitched Stars, cut 4 of the largest size and 4 of the next size down using cardstock that has been covered with Clear Double Sided Adhesive.
Remove adhesive and cover with ECD Silk Microfine Glitter. I used Bluebell for the larger ones and Brushed Pewter for the smaller ones. Glue together.
For the numbers, I used some old chipboard number that I found in my stash.
To make the numbers red and shinny, I added some Clear Double Sided Adhesive to Red Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.
I traced around the numbers with a ballpoint pen. Make sure to trace with the numbers backwards so the front comes out reading the correct way. The ink from the pen will not show on the release paper but it will make an impression that can be used to cut out the numbers my hand. Peel release paper from numbers and add to chipboard.
Glue numbers on stars and then add a ribbon, twine or string. I used some wired glittery trim and used hot glue to hold it in place.
Have a crafty week,
S@ndy
