Feelin' Punky

Steampunk that is!  I recently attended a class at the home of a friend and Scrapbook Club member.  We set out to make an Advent Box or a Birthday Box.  The box is from Karen Foster Designs, 3D Peek A Box Countdown Calendar.  Since I have no small children around these days and was not inspired to do birthday I decided to go with the Steampunk theme using papers from Graphic 45 (just love them). I covered the entire box with the beautiful paper and the drawer fronts inside as well.  So sorry about the glare in the first pic but there is a clear plastic window on the door.

Each of the small squares is a drawer.  I plan to use them for storing all my little embellishments and gadgets.
I did cover the back as shown below but since it will be sitting against the wall I didn't add embellishments as I normally would.  On the front I added a handle made from a washer (found in one of my favorite places, the garage) with gold embossing powder added.  On top of the washer I used one of Tim Holtz's Light Bulbs, a key chain, a Trinket Pin with a key, a Babble and some Adornments from Tim's collection.  In the corner is a Paper Rossette with a clock face from 7 gypsies, some feathers, leaves and a Steampunk Tag.  It turned out that I was a little short of paper when it came to covering the door so took a "Creative Detour" and added some black cardstock to the design.

Got to run now and fill the boxes up with goodies!!

  1. I made this Advent box....last Dec. But can't remember the brand either.
Wish I had made MINE Steampunk! Great job with the cutting and placement of the papers...like how the design is continued across the row. Also love your embellishments and of course rosette. It is truly something that could be done for
    Several themes. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Great box!! I can't believe how well you matched up all of the paper, you cut it so precisely, I'm impressed. It is a great box, I could use one like it for my little embellishments, I just don't think I could do as well as you did. You are really good, thanks for sharing your marvelous idea.
