There is a new challenge starting today at A Vintage Journey and our lovely hostess, Julia, is asking us to show something "Created Inside a Frame".
I hate to admit it but, the truth is, I have a stash of stuff in my studio as well as a stash of stuff in the garage. For this project I decided to go to the garage. What I came out with was an old circuit board from a computer and a cheap picture frame that I've been saving for awhile. When I put them all together with a piece using a techniqe from the Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 103, I ended up with this. It was fun to create and I hope you enjoy it.
Here's how it came together:
Tim Holtz is using this technique for his September tag that shows how to make these prints that look somewhat like an old negative. I used his Evolution stamp set here.
I removed the glass and back from the frame and then covered it and the circuit board with gesso.
Next came placement of these elements. When I was happy with the composition I started adding the color and the rest of the pieces (as shown below).
I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays and some Black Soot Distress Paint for the finishing color. After finding things from my studio stash that I wanted, I simply started placing objects where I liked them.
Hope you will stop by the Vintage Journey blog to see what the team made - they are a very talented group of ladies and I'm sure you will be WOWED!!
I see that there is a new challenge at SanDee & amelie's Steampunk Challenge blog. Anything goes - steampunk/industrial so this definitely fits.
