It's Steampunk Tag Friday @ A Vintage Journey

Hi My Steampunk Friends,

It's Tag Friday at A Vintage Journey and I love it because we are free to make anything we want as long as we stay within the Grungy, Shabby or Steampunk Style.  I have two tags to share today and I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoyed making them.

I used images from the Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante line (my favorite of all time). For my tags today, I went stash diving and came up with both of these tags that had been started but not finished.

This is the way I found these tags, one has the paper on the front of the tag and the other was added to an acrylic tag.  I punched some holes for gears and then started adding them along with some small flowers and black ribbon for the top.

Doing Steampunk is right up my ally, I collect and save parts of old watches and there are some gears(cogs)from an old printer that Mac disassembled for me.

Have a wonderful weekend and be sure to stop over at A Vintage Journey to see what the rest of the team made.

Until next time.

Dream

Hi Friends,

I have a fun card to share with you.  Of course you know I love using Karen Burniston's fabulous interactive dies and today I've combined the Upsy Daisy die set with some new Graphic 45 papers called Imagine.

I was inspired by a card posted by Karen Aicken where she used just one arm of the die set.  I used both arms on mine and used the awesome cloud background that Karen Burniston used for her flying tent card earlier this month.

 I hope you enjoy!

Have a great week,

YAY It's Challenge Day at Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hi again my crafty friends,

Today we are all about Hexagons - that is the challenge.
My card is for my dear hubby, Mac, for our anniversary.  This year we celebrated #54 on June 13.

I used three hexagons in my card, two on the outside and one inside.  This card has a fun fold that I saw on YouTube while watching Dawn.  It opens from the top and the side.  I have included scoring and cutting instructions below.  A belly band is just perfect to hold this one shut and to add some extra color.

To get the shape of this card here is all you need to do.  You will get two A2 cards from one piece of 8.5" X 11" cardstock.

Hello Summer

Hi friends -
Today is the Paper Pros monthly challenge and this month the theme is "Food & Drink.  What food is more fun in the summer than watermelon?  I used Karen Burniston's Tent Pop Up die set to make my juicy slice of summer fun.  It's always fun to use dies in different ways to get more use from them.  ENJOY!

I kept the outside of the card very simple using the Circle Crosshatch and some fun words.  On the inside I used the tent die cut from red and then added some seeds and some green and white for the rhine.

Until next time,

A Way With Words - A New Release

The folks at Elizabeth Craft Designs have some great things to share with you today.  Their licensed Designer, Suzanne Cannon, has some beautiful newly designed dies to share and I had so much fun with the first one, I decided to make two of them today.

For the first card I made an easel using the new (#1543)Rosebud Wreath & Elements die set. The lovely design on the wreath is delicate yet sturdy enough to make a fabulous card.  I cut one of the elements (three times) to make the design on the bottom portion of the card. For the sentiment I used the beautiful new Thanks You 2.

For my second card I used the words Eat, Drink & Be Merry that have been designed in Suzanne's signature calligraphy style.  I combined these great words with the Summer Drink Set and the Stitched Ovals and Rectangles

Just For Fun Friday - We Flamingo Together

Hi and welcome back friends,

I have a  fun card to share today - I used the fabulous new Flamingo Die Set from Elizabeth Craft Designs and the Fitted Hearts along with the Adventure Edges.

I began with the flamingos cut from pink paper and then used Copic Markers to color on top of the pink - adding some darker colors to the soft pink.

I made a simple gate fold card and the cut the heart directly in the center.   Next, add some grass at the bottom of the card.  Add the colored flamingos to the center so their beaks meet in the center to form a heart shape.  For this card - I cut 4 flamingos and colored them the same.  I then glued them back to back so they would look good from both sides when the card is opened.

A simple colored panel for the inside of the card adds lots of color.  I used Distress Inks for the background.

For the finishing touch, stamp the sentiment on a Stitched Rectangle and edge with some ink.

Have a creative weekend,
