Just For Fun Friday - YouTube Inspiration

I love watching YouTube videos because I feel there is always something to learn.  Lately I've been watching lots of card making videos with some different kinds of folds so thought I'd share my version of a great ideas.  Credit goes to Dawn Griffith for showing this fun fold.

I live in the beautiful Sonoran Desert which most people think of as brown - but the truth is - there is so much color to be found here.  The spring is especially beautiful when the cactus bloom, add in a gorgeous sunset, there's nothing better.

I made my card to depict the beauty of the desert - Enjoy!
This is an A2 card which means 4.25" X 5.5".
The base is a kraft color that measures 11" X 4.25", scored in the center

The inside panel is 10.75" X 4", scored in the center and then scored in the center of each side panel.

To make my desert scene, I tore a piece of 11" Eclipse Tape down the center.  Any paper can be used for this, the Eclipse Tape has a low tack sticky back similar to a post it note.

The Eclipse paper was placed at the top of the card panel then the bottom portion was colored with a color blender and Vintage Photo and Antique Linin Distress Inks.

Next the bottom, inked, portion, was covered with the other half of the paper and the sky was
colored in.  To make it look like a sunset I used orange, yellow, purple and blue.

The colored panel was placed inside the base by adding adhesive to the two outside panels only -leaving a small boarder all around.

To finish off the inside of the card I used the Cacti Stamp Set from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  All though the stamp set has a coordinating die set I wanted to fussy cut the cacti choosing not use the pots for the inside of the card.

After coloring and cutting out the cacti, I placed them along with the lizard on the card.
The puffy cloud shapes were made using a templet from the Adventure Edges.

I kept the front simple using the Dashing Rectangles and this time the potted cactus seemed perfect.  A couple small clouds were added using the Rainbow Sky die.

All the products I used are linked below.

Have a wonderful weekend,
S@ndy
