New Challenge - Spring Is In The Air

Hi -

Today is a new month and new challenge at A Vintage Journey where I'm your hostess for "Spring Is In The Air".  Hope you will come by to see what the talented Creative Guides have made.  I assure you - it is worth the journey.

I'm sharing a rusted out watering can that has been sitting around all winter waiting to be used again.
It seems that a bird has found a home here for the spring.

Have a wonderful weekend -
See you soon,

Crazy 4 Challenges - Purple

Hi and welcome back, this is my final week as guest designer at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.  I would like to thank Frances Byrne, my lovely team mate, for inviting me.  I had fun creating the 4 themes this past month.

According to the Days of the Year web site the 26th March is Purple Day.  Purple Day is a celebration aimed at raising worldwide awareness of epilepsy, a condition that affects over 65 million people globally. For our challenge this week include the color purple in your creations.

I hope you will stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges by clicking here to see what everyone else made.

Have a great weekend,

Designer Challenge Week - Day 2

Hi everyone and welcome back for day 2 of  Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge Week where we are sharing Pull Cards.  Her Challenge to us was Pull It!  Yesterday I shared a horizontal pull card feathering Lucky.  Today I've decided to go vertical with the Oval Pull Card and use Karen's beautiful Hot Air Balloons.

I cut the card as usual placing the alignment nubs on the fold of the card.  Then just give it a quarter turn to pull up instead of out.  I turned to my e-cutter for the big cloud and sized it to fit the oval.  Like yesterday - I wanted to hide a secret message inside.

As the card is pulled upward - the balloons float to the top revealing the message.

Don't forget to stop Karen's blog here tomorrow to see what the entire team made.  Karen will be showing all the Pull It designs as well as a brand new video.  Her videos always feature a new technique using her dies - another great way to get the most from your collection.

Have a great week,

Hop Hop Hooray - It's Designer Challenge Week!!

I love Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge week because there are so many creative cards and projects to see from the design team as well as a new video from Karen.

This time around Karen has asked us to "Pull It" - using any of her great pull cards.  I chose to use the Oval Pull Card from her latest collection.  With Easter so near - Lucky the Rabbit is my choice for a cute character to add some hoppy birthday wishes.

The fun thing about a pull card is that you can have a hidden message and that is just what I did here.

When you pull the card open it reveals the fun birthday message.
The balloons are cut from Elizabeth Craft Designs #100 Soft Finish cardstock and then colored with Distress Inks.

I like combining parts and pieces from different die & stamp sets, I have used 9 different ones here, and they are all linked below for you.  Simply click on the photo of the product to get all the details.

These are the colors they are looking for over at the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog.

Have a fabulous week and come back tomorrow for another "Pull It" project.

Crazy 4 Challenges

Today is my second guest spot on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog where we are talking about Pi “π”.  I have to say - being a guest on this blog has been an education for me.  Who knew about all these wonderful celebrations?

Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to
represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.

For the challenge this week we were asked to create cards that feature circles and/or pies!
Monday is Pi Day (π) it's an annual celebration which occurs every
March 14th.

With St Patrick's Day being so close, green seemed to be in order.

Have a great day & check out the links below to see the products I used for this card.

Happy Weekend,

Card 2

Hi and welcome back.  I'm just taking a break from making kits for my class so thought I would share card 2 with you.  So here it is.

My Barrel of Monkeys Card was very well liked at CHA so thought it would be fun to make it in a class. This paper by Carta Bella is just perfect for these pranksters.  You will recognize Jinks from the Karen Burniston - Pop it Ups collection along with the Props 2 and The Barrel Basket.
These guys just double your fun - all from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

If you live in the Phoenix area - hope to see you at The Paper Collage on March 23.

Guest at Crazy 4 Challenges

Hi everyone - hope you are having the most fabulous weekend.  I'm here today to share a cute project I made for the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog where I will be guest designer each Saturday during the month of March.  I'm so happy that my team mate, the talented, Frances Byrne invited me to play along with the rest of her crazy friends.

Did you know there is a month to celebrate the Umbrella? (BTW - it's March).  It was news to me until Frances sent the list for this months challenges. This marvelous invention which prevents us from getting wet, or getting too much sun, or is a fun shelter at the beach, is also a wonderful vessel to hold some lovely flowers or perhaps provide a small pond for our rubber ducks.
Here is my take on the umbrella!

It would be oh so nice if you could stop by to see what the rest of the crazies did with Umbrella Month by clicking here.

Happy Crafting,
