Today is the 100th birthday of Arizona and to celebrate I have made a card depicting our flag using Honey Pop Paper from Inky Antics and YoYo Yellow & Brilliant Blue from Stampin Up.
On his post yesterday Tim Holtz began a new adventure where he will be doing "a tag a month" for 2012 and of course I want to participate. After die cutting the star and cutting it in half as shown on Tim's blog, I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist Copper. I thought it may not hold up with spray but all was ok in the end. I inked the Tim Holtz Embossing Folder with Distress Ink, Barn Door, then ran it through the Big Shoot. Then adding the blue paper at the bottom, glued the star on and then added a stick pin with red, white and blue beads and a banner cut from the Tim Holtz Tattered Banner Die. I glued the entire card front to a piece of copper colored paper.
Happy Birthday Arizona!!!
super cool use of that embossing folder!

Very cool card! Love how the star turned out!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'm curious, where did you find your pins with the heart top? I make stick pins, too, and would love to know where you found these.
ReplyDeleteI think I got them at Michael's - try looking in the Wedding Section - Good Luck!!
